[Guida] Ripristinare Linux Grub Boot Loader

Siccome tutte le volte me ne dimentico...ecco dei semplici passi per ripristinare il boot loader GRUB du ubuntu e kubuntu

1. Boot from a Live CD, like Ubuntu Live, Knoppix, Mepis, or similar.

2. Open a Terminal. Go SuperUser (that is, type "su"). Enter root passwords as necessary.

3. Type "grub" which makes a GRUB prompt appear.

4. Type "find /boot/grub/stage1". You'll get a response like "(hd0)" or in my case "(hd0,3)". Use whatever your computer spits out for the following lines.

5. Type "root (hd0,3)".

6. Type "setup (hd0,3)". This is key. Other instructions say to use "(hd0)", and that's fine if you want to write GRUB to the MBR. If you want to write it to your linux root partition, then you want the number after the comma, such as "(hd0,3)".

7. Type "quit".

8. Restart the system. Remove the bootable CD.

OK, i tuoi passi sono ottimi, ma purtroppo capita che non funzionino... ad esempio io ieri ho installato win7, il quale ha spippolato l'mbr e non funzionava più un tubo... ho provato con i passi sopra descritti e non ha funzionato... quindi che fare?

non c'è problema!!

C'è Super Grub!!

Super Grub è una iso avviabile con un programma di recupero per il grub, molto ben fatta.. la potete scaricare da qui

basta maserizzalra, inserirla e avviare da cd.. poi seguire i seguenti passi:

1) scegliere la lingua italiana e IGNORARE... pardon... LEGGERE ATTENTAMENTE tutto quel che dice fino al primo menù selezionabile..

2) Scegliere GNU/Linux tra i sistemi operativi proposti

3) Leggere Ancora e al prossimo menu scegliere "Fix Boot of Linux (Grub)"

4) Selezionare la partizione Linux che non parte più (nb dovrebbe essere la stessa hdx,y che si diceva sopra)

5) Tornare indietro fino alla scelta dell' OS

6) Quit

7) Reboot you PC

Togliere il cd di SuperGrub

9) Mandate 5 euro per la consulenza al buon DragontearS..

Potete stare tranquilli che il vostro grub è tornato a funzionare... se nn funziona neanche così.. beh forse la prossima volta che installate windows dovreste evitare di sovrascrivere linux...
